Romancing Rare Hearts

4 logo_1685361_web

This free dating site is open primarily to two rare kinds of people: those who find it difficult to join “regular” dating sites because of a rare condition that they have—whatever condition that may be—and this site is also open to people who don’t have a rare condition at all but who would be willing to date people who do have one. Anyone not belonging to either of these two groups should join any of the other myriads of dating sites. Also, if romance is not what you’re looking for, this site can also be used to find friendships only.

This site does not discriminate on the basis of religion, gender, race, sexual orientation, or of anything else. All who thirst for companionship are welcome here.

This site is a bit more intimate than the average support group website. Though there is public posting, the posting is a little less public and more private here, between members. So, there is more emphasis on intimacy and privacy than publicity. The only component of this site that more resembles the average support group is a private group which can be created by any member, and any member can ask to join it.

If you have a rare condition, you can mention it in your profile or wait until you find someone here that you’re interested in and disclose your condition in a private message or email to that person, whichever way you choose to do it. Or maybe you’d rather wait until your first face-to-face meeting with that person to let him or her know what your condition is. Personally, I think letting the person know BEFORE the first date would be fair not only to that person but also to you. You wouldn’t want to risk rejection solely on the basis of your condition. But, of course, it’s up to you.

This website seeks to remedy the fact that we with our conditions don’t quite fit in with the “regular” dating sites. After all, we are no less human, no less capable of love, no less desiring of falling in love. So, why should we be left out?

As far as I know (as of 2015), this is the first site of its kind, but I’m sureheart_rocks_attributes_crafts_love_35996_300x188 not the last. Others will follow and improve upon this one. As a result, thousands of people just like us will meet others just like us and fall in love and perhaps even raise families. I’m hoping that will happen beginning with this first site (if this is the first site of its kind).

As for those of you who don’t have a rare condition, only use this site if you’re 100% sure that you will not reject a member (after a physical meeting) solely for his or her disorder. Otherwise, please join another dating site.

I welcome any complaints by any member who feels they have been criminally or otherwise mistreated. If it’s a criminal circumstance while the two of you are physically together, call the police right away and then contact me. Please don’t place such complaints in Comments, instead email me, the administrator, at rich@romancingrarehearts.com I will make sure the person in question is barred from this site.

Use Comments for everything else, including suggestions on how to improve the site. I’ll do the best I can to make any necessary changes and improvements.  CHAMP. GLASSES

I hope you enjoy yourself and meet that special someone. You deserve it. Cheers! Here’s to romancing rare hearts.

Note: Even if you choose not to become a member of this site, please feel free to browse, read, and/or order any products.

  1. A Kenyan in Kenya.. I’ve been here a while, not much active, up until now, when someone sent me a friend request lol Who was it that said, if you go out looking for friends, you’ll find it difficult getting them, but if you go out to be a friend, you’ll get them everywhere…

I’m not sure if I have TMAU, no available tests here, but nonetheless living with bad body and breath odor, has taken its toll on both my social and dating life.. I’m always happy to be with people like me, who can empathize.. even better if they are single and looking for love too. Thank you Rich for the site and for having me

    1. Thank you for your comment, Oscar! I hope the site is making a positive impact on some of the people with our condition. I’m glad you’re finding friendships here, and I’m proud to be one of them!

  2. Hello Everyone!! My first day on this very unique site. I think it is one of a kind. Very grateful for it. My journey as a TMAU survivor, started at a very early age while in grammar school. Back when Doctors came to the school and Children were lined up as the doctor examined us in front of everyone. This doctor made a “stinky face” and was seen by a classmate,( as I am sure, by others as well), and she told me that I smelled. My very first encounter with this condition. My skin has thickened over the years, but some days, it gets to me, the cruel remarks, the rejection and I just have to let it out, because it has caused me so much pain on that particular day. To have someone in our lives that truly understands would be a gift. I feel privileged to be a part of this dating site. People like us are rare.

    1. Hi Renee. I’m glad to have you here on the site. Most of us here have this condition. I, personally, have had it for over 25 years. For me, it doesn’t get any easier as time goes by. I hope the site helps you in finding the relationships you’re looking for, as well as the info you might need to fight your condition. There’s a lot to see and do here. Good luck! If you need any help with anything I’ll be more than happy to assist you.

    1. Hi Jazmine. You might have already received the welcome email explaining some things about this site, if not, you soon will. After reading it, if you have any questions, I will be more than happy to help you. Welcome and thank you for joining!

  3. Thanks for commenting, PB2G51. I know what you mean by the ugly looks, etc. by people who don’t understand that this is a medical condition and it has nothing to do with our hygiene.

It looks as though you registered but then might have changed your mind. If you’re having any problem becoming a member, just let me know and I’ll help you.

But, you don’t necessarily have to be a member of the site to take advantage of all the valuable info on our condition on the various pages on the left. I hope you join, though.

    Rich

  4. Hi Everybody! Rich thank you for this site and for bringing awareness to our disorder! I’ve been dealing with this all my life and I have to say that it has made me to be stronger and ignore all the ugly looks, rude comments, not to mention the rejection from people who just didn’t understand my plight. I feel so much better after finding out this is an actual disorder, it can be managed, and am worthy of life , laughter, and friendship! This by no means defines who I am.

    1. Hey Samie. You’ve already met somebody with your disorder–me. Thank you for the site compliment. I hope you get a lot of useful info on our condition and meet a lot of good people here. 🙂

      Rich

  5. Hello Rich,
I’m so glad to see a site such as this for people with rare disorders. I pray this site does very well. The desire for love, companionship, and marriage is a need most all humans desire.
    Good luck and happy dating,
    Marsha

    1. Hey, Marsha. Thanks so much for your kind words! I searched for a long time for a site like this but couldn’t find one. Sometimes we just have to do things ourselves and not wait for somebody else to do it.

      Rich

  6. Hello, I live in massachuesetts and have tmau, fish odor syndrome, the same thing that the creator of this site has, I’m looking for someone, particularly in the northeast region but if not that’s fine.

    1. Hello, Zachary. I see that you haven’t registered on the site. There is at least one member who is from your home state. If you click on the register button close to the top of the side bar you will be able to meet someone in your area after registering. You can send the member a private message if you like. In the meantime, I’ll send you an email to give you a better understanding of how to navigate through the site, which every new member is given.

Please let me know if you have any problems. I’ll do everything I can to help.

      Richard
